Personally, I can’t stand bullies. How can a person pick at someone without any valid reason but just because they can’t stand their existence or maybe they look different in appearance? No one deserves to be treated like trash. We all look different and think different so it’s of no use to create a more insignificant reason to hate another being just because he/she is different.
Jacqueline Adan from America was victimised when she was bullied for her legs, well she did feel bad about it initially but she didn’t let it get to her, instead, she took it to Instagram with a new energy of taking something negative and turning it into positivity.
Adan struggled with her weight for a long time, she used to weigh around 500 pounds(220kg).
But she worked hard on it and lost 350 pounds by maintaining a strict eating habit and exercises.
“They do not know me. They do not know how I have worked my a*s off to lose 350 pounds. They do not know how I am recovering from major surgeries.”
When a person loses weight very quickly the skin sometimes can’t keep up with the pace, resulting in loose skin that leaves behind after burning all those fats.
It doesn’t look good on anyone, its a fact, but that is not what we should focus on. We should see the hard work and determination she put in into achieving such humungous goals. I could never do that!
Adan felt conscious about her legs in the beginning and she used to cover up her bottoms. She has never worn a swimsuit in a long time but this time while she was on vacay, she grew herself the confidence to do so. And she did it.
When she went to the hotel pool that’s when she was bullied and a couple laughed at her looking at her legs.
“I was nervous to take my cover-up off and to walk into the pool or walk on the beach. I still felt like that same 500-pound girl… then, it happened. A couple sitting by the pool started laughing and pointing at me and making fun of me as soon as I took my cover-up off.”
Later she took the incident to Instagram and wrote a game-changing quote on it with a picture of her legs.
“It does not matter what others say. That’s ok. Love your body.”
She got instant positive reactions and gained 30k likes with heartfelt comments for her.
“To be honest, yes it bothered me. But I was not going to let people like that affect me anymore! I am not going to let what other people think of me stop me from living my life.”
“Others might not like that. That’s ok. I hope you love yourself. Love your body. I hope you keep doing you, and just keep smiling!”
So since today is #worldmentalhealthday I wanted to share my journey. Not just show you guys a before and after picture of myself and make it seem like everything is perfect now. I wanted to show all of the stages. All of the steps I have gone through. From gaining weight, to losing weight, to having loose skin, to skin removal surgery and recovery…it has been a journey. A mental health journey. A journey to love myself. Take care of myself. A journey to address the issues that got my weight over 500 pounds, a journey to change old patterns and habits. Yes, I lost over 300 pounds, but in the process I gained so much more. I posted a new YouTube video where I share more of my mental health journey and talk about what I am going through. YouTube.com/jacquelinesjourney It is ok to ask for help. It is ok to need help. It is ok to not be ok. This does not define you! What matters is that you know that you are strong enough to handle anything!!! That you are not alone! Never give up on yourself and never stop fighting for you! . . . . #jacquelineadan #jacquelinesjourney #effyourbeautystandards #selfloveclub #selflove #lovemybody #lovemyshape #loveyourself #teamself #extremeweightloss #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlosstransformation #weightlossmotivation #beforeandafter #beforeandafterweightloss #mentalhealth #bodybuildingcom #bodypositive #bodyconfidence #bodyposi #transformationfitnation #transformationtuesday #tuesdaytransformation #fitfam #fitspo #bodytransformation #igtransformations #transformationjourney
Her transformation is amazing. And she has the most positive vibes ever, her words are as inspiring as her words. We hope those bullies see her posts and feel ashamed of trying to shade and dim the light of such a beautiful soul. We wish Jacqueline all the love and success for her future endeavours.
